Steve Korns

Steve Korns brings 36 years of leadership experience from both industry and government.  He served 28 years in the U.S. Air Force, retiring from active duty at the rank of Colonel.

In his current position at Hill Associates, he serves as Senior Consultant leading a portfolio of cybersecurity services supporting the Office of the Chief Information Officer at the U.S. Treasury.  Prior to joining Hill Associates, he served in a variety of corporate leadership positions, including:   President of Andrews International Government Services;  Vice President of Cyber at the Redhorse Corporation; Chief Technology Officer, General Dynamics Intelligence Division; Senior Director of Cyber Consulting, CenturyLink; and Director, Cyber Solutions at L-3 Communications.  During his military service he served in staff positions at the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force, the Joint Staff, and the Defense Information Systems Agency.  He also held key leadership positions and contributed directly to U.S. and DoD cyber initiatives, including as member of the Presidential Commission for the Comprehensive National Cybersecurity Initiative; Chief of Staff at the U.S. National Cyber Security Center, Department of Homeland Security; Director of Cyber Operations Assessments at the U.S. CYBER COMMAND; and Director of Operations at the DoD Global Network Security Operations Center.

He holds the following professional certifications:  Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Defensive Cyber Operations Engineer (DCOE), Project Management Professional (PMP), and DoD Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Level II Information Technology Acquisition Program Manager.

Mr. Korns is a graduate of the George Washington University Senior Government Executive National Security Program, and the National Defense University Information Warfare Program.  He holds a Masters in International Strategic Leadership from the U.S. Air War College; a Masters in Information Systems Management from Hawaii Pacific University; and a Bachelors in Engineering from Miami University.
